Story Painter is a children's storytelling app. We run no advertising and no third-party analytics or trackers of any kind.
Creating stories requires a grown-up account, used to manage your 7-day free trial and subscription. Sign-in is handled by Clerk using Google. When you sign in, we receive from Google only your name and email address — nothing more. We use your email to identify your account and trial. You can delete your account — and everything the server stores with it — at any time directly in the app under Grown-Up Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account also deletes the books saved on that device. It does not by itself cancel an active Apple subscription; cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Story Painter Premium is an auto-renewable subscription billed through Apple. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details. After a 7-day free trial, Premium costs US$4.99/month and can be canceled anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings.
To illustrate a page, the words of that page are sent securely (HTTPS) to our illustration service, which forwards them to our image-generation partner (Runware) to draw the picture. Only the page text is sent — never names, contacts, or anything else — and text is processed transiently to generate the image and is not stored on our servers.
Your child's voice is converted to text using Apple's built-in speech recognition framework. Depending on device and network conditions, Apple may process audio on-device or through its own servers, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children never see or use the account: sign-in and purchases sit behind a grown-up gate (a math question a small child cannot pass). Only the grown-up's Google account email is ever collected. If you believe any information has been received in error, contact us and we will delete it.
