🎮 How do I use Story Painter?

Tap Tell a New Story, then tap the big microphone and speak a title. For each page, just tell the story — say "the end" when the page is done, check the words, and tap Draw my picture! Repeat for more pages, then tap Finish my book.

🎤 The app can't hear me

Story Painter needs microphone and speech-recognition permission. On your iPhone go to Settings → Story Painter and make sure Microphone and Speech Recognition are turned on. Speech recognition works best with a normal talking voice in a quiet room.

🖼️ No picture appears

Drawing pictures needs an internet connection, and our illustration service occasionally takes a short break. If a picture fails, just tap Try again — the story is never lost. If it keeps failing, check back in a few minutes.

💳 Free trial & subscription

Every account starts with a 7-day free trial of Premium. After the trial, Premium is $4.99/month, billed through Apple. You can cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on the iPhone. Signing in and subscribing happen behind a grown-up gate so children can't reach them.

🔑 How do accounts work?

A grown-up signs in with Google (handled securely by Clerk) the first time they start a story. Kids never need to sign in — the app just works for them.

📚 Where are my books stored?

Books, story text, and pictures are saved only on your iPhone. They work offline. Deleting the app deletes all books, so treasure them! There is no account and no cloud copy.

🔒 What happens to my child's story?

The words of each page are sent securely to our illustration service to draw its picture, then deleted. Nothing is stored on our servers, we run no analytics, and we never collect personal information. See our Privacy Policy.
